Just a few miles from Hawa Mahal, you can continue the historical tour into Jaipur’s City Palace. You will be given 2 options of the entrance package. Option one will cost just INR 1500 per person and will provide you full access to all sides of the building where you’ll be enlightened by the stories behind each room. If you’re travelling on a budget opt for option two, where you can pay just INR 500 for four gates access and still be guaranteed those Insta-worthy snapshots.

Like Hawa Mahal, City Palace is dominated by the terracotta pink color on its surroundings. But what’s more intriguing is the four vibrant gates nestled inside City Palace. It’s part of Pritam Niwas Chowk courtyard, which means like “Courtyard of the Beloved”. The four gates have their own spiritual story of Hindu Gods to tell and represent the four seasons that are beautifully carved to the precise details.

As its name suggests, Peacock Gate, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, features carved green-coloured peacocks that symbolizes Autumn season. Representing the Summer season, Lotus Gate comprises vibrant lotus in pink and other soft colors to enhance it. Lehariya Gate got its name from the waves pattern in the green colors that represent Spring season and is a tribute to Lord Ganesha. Dedicated to the Goddess Debi, the Rose Gate comprises feminine rose petal pattern and represents the Winter season.

The entrance gate, known also as Patrika Gate has nine gates portraying historical scenes of temples, fort, nostalgic and daily life cultures in a vibrant way. Caffé Palladio is a quirky yet elegant European Café with highly inspired Jaipur décor. It’s been famed and reviewed over several luxury travel magazines such as Vogue and Condé Nasté Traveler. Although its located in an ordinary side street, at the dramatic entrance you’ll be greeted by two lively peacocks at the gate.

The air-conditioned playful setting consists of a tropical jungle theme with orange pastel tones and an al fresco dining garden with canopies.
